Wire Mill Distilling Company takes its name and inspiration from the historic Wire Mill that significantly helped shape Georgetown Connecticut into the community it is today.

Along the banks of the Norwalk River, the Gilbert & Bennett Manufacturing Company became one of the defining industries of Georgetown. Beginning in the 1800s, generations of skilled craftsmen drew steel into fine wire and wove it into screens, fencing and industrial products used throughout Connecticut and across America.

The mill did more than manufacture wire. It employed generations of local families, helped build the surrounding neighborhoods and gave Georgetown much of the hardworking, independent character that still defines it today.

Situated at the crossroads of Redding, Wilton, Ridgefield and Weston, Georgetown grew around the mill and the river that powered it. For generations, the towering brick factory stood as a symbol of craftsmanship, resilience and American ingenuity.

Wire Mill Distilling Company was created to carry that heritage forward.

Our spirits are inspired by the same principles that built Georgetown: quality materials, skilled craftsmanship, patience and pride in making something well.
